The Onalaska Police Department relies upon community involvement through programs such as Crime Stoppers and Neighborhood Watch. Community involvement and support help to make the Onalaska Police Department successful.

Chief Gilbert recognizes that people are what make the difference in any organization. The department is committed to recruiting the most qualified candidates, training and equipping them proficiently, and providing them with an atmosphere that will allow them to excel. He firmly believes that if he meets the needs of his employees, they in turn will meet the needs of our community. The Onalaska Police Department will do all it can to maintain the support and trust of the community, recognizing that this trust is what enables them to protect and serve the city of Onalaska, Texas.
