Get Comfortable with Computers

Chromebooks with built-in Wi-Fi are available to check out from the Onalaska Public Library.  We encourage you to do this! Funding has been provided by the CARES Act, through the Texas State Library and Arts Commission.  

Beginning this fall, FREE classes on how to use computers and the internet will be offered each week.  See the schedule in the library, or call the library to ask about how to signup for these fun events.  Get a library card or renew your card before classes start so you can check out Chromebooks to take home and practice what you learn in class.  Topics include:

• Mouse & Keyboard Basics
• Computer Basics
• Internet Basics
• Email Basics - Gmail
• Microsoft Word
• File Management
• Cyber Security Basics

Classes will also take place at the Senior Center in Onalaska if you would like to attend there. 

There is a Digital Assessment you may take to determine your specific needs.  Stop by the library for more information about this. If materials are printed, we ask that you reimburse the library for the cost of the printed materials.
