The Onalaska Public Library invites children of all ages to enjoy our “Adventure Begins at Your Library” summer reading program at the Library, coming summer 2024! The program encourages reading for pleasure and participation in an exciting line-up of programs.
Reading-themed events for children will be held mostly on Tuesday afternoons at 2:00 pm during the months of June and July. The Summer Reading Program is always an exciting time. Stop by to ask the staff about ways you can participate. There is no age limit to participate, but a responsible adult with a library card needs to register each child separately. Be sure to check with the librarians for all the latest information.
Checkouts require an active library account. Anyone can attend events without registration and without a library card. If you're looking for something to do on Tuesday afternoons, stop by and share in the fun.

2023 ALSC Summer Reading Lists
What is the ALSC? From creative programming and best practices to continuing education and professional connections—ALSC members are innovators in the field of children's library service.
The ALSC's Quicklists Consulting Committee updates our Summer Reading Lists with exciting titles each year! Click on the links below to see the titles in each age group.
The lists are full of titles to keep children engaged in reading throughout the summer. Four Summer Reading lists are available for birth-preschool and grades K-2, 3-5 and 6-8. Each list is available here to download for free. Titles on the 2023 Summer Reading Lists were compiled and annotated by members of ALSC’s Quicklists Consulting Committee. ALSC reading lists are created as a resource for children's librarians to share with patrons. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to explore these titles to find resources that may match or spark their child's interest. 2024 lists will be posted here when available.
